Free Holiday Light Displays - Cleveland West Side Moms

The holidays are almost here & a family favorite of ours is going to see all the holiday light displays we have in the area.
Here’s a list of FREE wonderful locations that have all types of displays for you & your family to enjoy.

 

1. PUBLIC SQUARE – Downtown

Public Square is kicking off Winterfest this year with their annual tree lighting on Saturday, November 27th at 7PM. The Winterfest light display located in Downtown Cleveland’s Public Square is a great opportunity to bring the family downtown for holiday pictures, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Enjoy an animated light and sound show three times per hour any day of the week. For more info: https://www.winterfestcle.com

 

2. WINTER RIVERFEST – The Flats

Winter Riverfest at Merwin’s Wharf is set to start November 26th. Besides festive light displays, there will be a synthetic ice skating rink, beer garden, firepits, retail shop, & igloo village. This the second year Cleveland Metroparks is hosting this holiday event along the Cuyahoga River in The Flats. Visit for the lights or stay a while & partake in activities. 3. LIGHT UP LAKEWOOD – Lakewood

The most joyous of Lakewood traditions is returning to Downtown Lakewood for the 15th annual celebration. The spirit of the season will come to life with holiday cheer when Light Up Lakewood 2021 takes place on Saturday, December 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit: https://www.lakewoodalive.org/event/light-up-lakewood-2021/

 

 

4. SEABURY HOLIDAY LIGHTS – Fairview Park

Seabury Holiday Lights in Fairview Park is a community project to encourage residents to light up the city with garland lights along front yards. Drive or walk through the neighborhood to enjoy all the hard work put into it! Map can be found here: https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=2292737#.

 

5. NIEDERST HOUSE – Rocky River

This Rocky River House is a great drive-by location if you’re in the area. The biggest feature? A 32 foot tall pixel tree. Address: 22200 Lake Rd. Please note: there’s nowhere to stop & park here.

 

6. CROCKER PARK – Westlake

Crocker Park is ALWAYS my family’s must-do each year. The whole place is filled with beautiful decorations, the big tree that does a nightly light show, & more! The annual tree lighting celebration is back this year on November 20 at 7PM. For more info: https://crockerpark.com/play

 

7. EXCALIBUR MUSICAL LIGHT SHOW – Westlake 

This house in Westlake is by far the best musical light display we’ve ever seen at a private residence. You could easily spend at least an hour here with the variety of songs they play. PRO-TIP: if you pull up to the house & don’t see anything happening, please wait! There’s a good 1-2 minute intermission between songs. One of the most fun things about this house is there’s no radio station to tune in to – just roll down your windows & listen – they play it out loud! Address: 3191 Excalibur Ave

 

8. ESTES FAMILY CHRISTMAS DISPLAY – Avon Lake

This is a beautiful house in Avon Lake that is definitely worthy of a drive-by. There’s beautiful lights tastefully decorated with a lot to see. Address is: 31747 Leeward Ct.

 

9. MR. GRISWOLD OF AVON LAKE – Avon Lake

While you’re in the area for other Avon Lake displays, be sure to add this one to the list. With more than 50,000 lights & many trees, there’s something for everyone here! Address is: 194 Fay Ave.

 

 10. DEVERE CHRISTMAS DISPLAY – Avon Lake

More than 20,000 lights will be display at this residence in Avon Lake. The Devere family has even decided to start the show earlier than Thanksgiving this year so be sure to carve out some time & check it out! Address is 688 Lear Rd. Please note: there’s nowhere to stop & park here.

 

11. VETERANS’ MEMORIAL PARK – Avon Lake

Veterans’ Memorial Park in Avon Lake is a wonderful holiday light display put on by the city of Avon Lake. Drive by & view the lights from the road or stop by to walk around this adorable lakeside park. The park is located at 32756 Lake Rd.

 

 12. HOLIDAY LIGHTS CRUISE-THRU – Lagrange

Carlisle Reservation in Lagrange is still the place to celebrate the magic of the season with the Holiday Lights Cruise-Thru! This family-friendly event will feature their classic lighted features to be enjoyed from the comfort of your vehicle! Admission is free, but they are kindly asking visitors to bring one non-perishable food item to be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. 13. BIGGS HOUSE – Lagrange

If you go to Carlisle, do not miss out on this house in Lagrange on Biggs Rd. Though it’s strictly a drive by, it is incredible. Address is: 42108 Biggs Rd.

 

14. BOB MANGAN’S WINTER WONDERLAND – North Ridgeville

Bob Mangan returns for 2021 with his annual Winter Wonderland display in North Ridgeville. There’s even select Santa nights for a great photo op. Address is 34907 Cambridge Dr.

 

15. FINWOOD ESTATE – Elyria

Finwood Estate in Elyria is a great place to see some beautiful lights for the holidays! While typically the building is open to the public with Santa & other fun activities to do inside, of course this year is different being that it will be closed & the estate will be more of a drive-thru experience. There is still loads of fun to be had here as this display is definitely worth of a look! Finwood is located at 799 Abbe Rd.

 

 16. LIGHTS ON THE LAKE – Lorain

Experience this lakefront drive-thru lighted holiday display at Lakeview Park in Lorain! Enjoy “Lights on the Lake” with classic holiday scenes, festive décor, and thousands of twinkling lights spanning this 26-acre park. This after-hours event is intended for drive-thru only. You will not be permitted to exit your vehicle. Lights turn on at dusk and stay lit until 10 pm each night. I hope you find an opportunity to enjoy this cheerful and safe holiday activity!

Santa Nights: 11/28, 11/28, 12/4, 12/5, 12/11, 12/12, 12/18 from 5-7pm. Come visit Santa and celebrate the magic of this holiday season with hot chocolate, cookie decorating, and crafts. Be sure to bring your camera to take a photo with Santa and capture all the wonderful memories. Admission to this program is free, but we are asking visitors to bring a non-perishable food item that will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. Pre-registration is required. BONUS IDEA: DRIVE DOWN LAKE ERIE COASTAL OHIO TRAIL

Take a drive down the Lake Erie Coastal Ohio Trail more commonly known as Lake Rd from Cleveland all the way to as far west as you want to go! Lights along Lake are in abundance this time of the year! You’ll be sure to see some beautiful displays.
