Social Distancing at Lakeview Park - The Cleveland Moms

Lately it seems as moms, especially, we are looking for safe & fun things to do this summer so we all don’t get bored out of our mind with our kids. So I thought it would be a good idea to share one of our favorite spots on the west side of Cleveland. Lakeview Park in Lorain. Lakeview Park is one of 22 public parks within the Lorain County Metroparks system. It’s right on the lake, within a half hour’s drive from downtown Cleveland, and pretty centrally located wherever you are on the west side.

Pictured above is the beautiful rose garden it features. There are still some roses in bloom & it’s a great spot to walk around while taking in the lake breeze. When we went, everyone was doing a great job social distancing. I felt very safe and comfortable to be there. This could possibly vary depending on what day of the week you go and time.

Another notable feature the kids will love is the great playground right on the beach in the sand. There’s a smaller set for toddlers & a bigger one for the older kids. Although we didn’t do a typically beach visit on this day, my son had a blast at the playground.

Pictured at a distance above shows Sunset Cafe that is open with limited hours. It overlooks the beach and lake with outdoor seating. There are also two cannons kids can have fun with imaginary play and a scenic fountain. Along with these amenities include various walking trails & picnic tables.

We could easily spend all day here between the beach & all the extras found here. Since we’ve been spending a lot more time outdoors, I highly recommend checking this location out if you haven’t already.
